Should I sell my wedding dress?
We understand selling your wedding dress can be a difficult decision to make. Le Dressing Club is here to guide you into making that important decision.
Here are a few ideas that could sway your mindset on your wedding dress' future, along with testimonials from brides who have sold their gowns with us.
An environmentally-friendly decision
Usually a one-wear item, a wedding dress is by definition one of the most unsustainable pieces you can ever purchase. Excessive clothing production is an increasing issue, leading to colossal amounts of leftover stock being sent to landfill. The bridal industry is no exception. Beautiful and expensive gowns are going to waste, whether it be at the back if your closet or landfill.
At Le Dressing Club we mainly offer designer prototypes and samples, but also second hand dresses exclusively from selected iconic designers. Some of our dresses come from brides-to-be who changed their mind and found another dress for their big day. Many future brides don't mind not buying a new dress, some even prefer buying second hand. We help them find their dream dress while taking a step towards a better planet.
Giving a second life to your wedding dress is a good way to avoid waste.
Designer gowns are expensive
Brides spend thousands of pounds on designer dresses to wear them once then store them at the back of a closet. The white wedding dress is becoming a symbol of excessive and unreasonable spending.
For that reason, Charlotte decided to sell her wedding dress at Le Dressing Club Paris :
“I fell in love with a Victoire Vermeulen dress. I knew it was the one, but it was way out of my budget. Given I couldn't find a second hand version of the dress anywhere, I decided to purchase a brand new one, to then resell it to Le Dressing Club after our wedding day. Without this opportunity, I wouldn’t have been able to wear my dream dress.”
Our concept is beneficial either way : you can purchase a new wedding dress and then sell it via Le Dressing Club, or you can directly purchase a discounted designer dress from our showroom.
Wedding dresses takeup storage space
Pauline booked an appointment in June 2020 to sell her wedding dress in our Parisian showroom:
“It felt absurd keeping my wedding dress locked up in my guest room closet, and most importantly, it took too much storage space!”
Help a bride get a beautiful designer dress
Alia waited nearly one year before she decided to put her wedding dress for sale. It was a very difficult decision for her. “I am a very sentimental person. But as soon as the dress was gone, I did not think about it any more”.
Alia wore a gorgeous Rime Arodaky gown on her wedding day. She was delighted to give another bride the chance to wear such an iconic designer.
